Zora's Domain, Hyrule. Friday [05/04 FT].
Out of the desert and back to the cool, refreshing waters of Zora's Domain, it was the final day for the Hyrule trip, and Sidon had arranged for his friends to arrive to a wonderful party held in their honor. He and the other Zora had hung up bright and colorful banners and he'd convinced someone from the Wetland Stable to come up to the Domain to prepare a feast: Fish Pie and Seafood Paella, but also non-fish meat dishes, like Poultry Pilaf and Spicy Pepper Steak. And, of course, Creamy Heart Soup to celebrate the closeness of their friendship! There was Fruitcake and Nutcake, fresh bread and Honeyed Fruits. Sidon had tried his hand at a little cooking himself, but the results were a little dubious. Either way, his friends would certainly be eating well tonight!
And then relaxing in the peaceful Domain over stories of their adventure out into Hyrule, which he could hardly wait to hear. He was just glad they were back and they were safe and they would all return to Fandom Island with the shared experiences of his beloved homeland.
...But was it too early to start planning for the next trip back? There was still so much left to see!
[[ and the final Hyrule post! No OCD on this one, and a big gigantic thank you to the guests for making it so delightful to revisit this place with fresh eyes again!]]

The elder Zora's gaze became a little more scrupulous. "Legends, really. No one has seen the dragons of the goddesses since well before the Calamity, except for the Hylian princess, of course, one would assume."

Norman, stop blushing and looking extra awkward.

"... The dragon."
And then a little smile. An awkward smile. The sort of smile that was still half hoping that maybe people would think that he was just joking or being coy.
no subject
"You...encountered the dragon?" Sidon gushed. "Truly, Norman?"
And that did seem to wake the Elder up a little, whose scrupulous gaze just got mildly sharper, drifting particularly to Norman's ears. "Are you...certain you're not Hylian, boy?"
no subject
"Pretty sure," he said. "And... I mean... I only saw the dragon. From a distance. I didn't approach it or anything."
no subject
Jiahto...merely offered a grumble, rubbing his chin thoughtfully, but highly doubting it would be that incredible, but he had to remember, the prince was so young, he could barely remember time before the Calmity, so of course he would be...easily impressed.

He let the awkwardness fade in order to sound a little bit awestruck, himself.
"I've seen a lot of awesome things, but... nothing like a dragon."
no subject
The Elder started to move back toward the sleeping pools to get his recording materials...rather slowly...
You might be holding that thought for a while, Norman.
Meanwhile, Sidon looked as though he had practically seen the dragon itself, a little envious that Norman has witnessed such a thing, but that small feeling was easily overwhelmed by how pleased he was that his friend could have experienced such a thing.
"Marvelous," he sighed, unable to think of anything more to say.
A special moment, indeed, when even Sidon was feeling rather speechless.
no subject
"It was," he agreed. "I, um."
And now he found himself wondering where to take the conversation from here, at least until the elder Zora returned.
"I see things, sometimes," he said, lamely, feeling a sudden need to explain while it was just the two of them. "Things that other people don't see. Ghosts, mostly, but I guess a big spirit dragon is close enough, or exists on the same plane or... something."

Something crept into him just then, something hard and unpalatable that made his stomach clench. His eyes lifted, almost unbidden, toward the statue at the middle of the courtyard, and he swallowed down the lump that had formed in his throat.
"Or, I suppose," he added, trying to dance around a thought, "in the case of the dragon, spirits that have ceased to exist in the current realm for..." And now his eyes traced up the mountain looming over them, "...whatever reason..."

Norman watched Sidon's gaze moving from place to place, listened to the way his voice seemed to just kind of fade in and out as thoughts worked their way around with that gaze.
He turned and he looked toward the statue, himself.
"You've got something on your mind, don't you?"
One didn't need to be a seer to figure that out.

Well... that was...
Norman looked at Sidon with a thoughtful frown. He'd never really had anybody asking him to use his power before.
"A favor?"

"I don't see her right now," he replied. "I could ask one of the other ghosts if she's here, though. There are usually at least a few."

Just go, and see if a ghost was in a certain place. That was nothing compared to some of the things that Norman had been asked to do over the years. But there was something to that request, something deeper than Norman could really grasp, that made him study Sidon in silence for a minute before coming up with reply. And when he spoke, his words were careful, measured, but gentle.
"I can do that," he said, nodding a little. "If she's there, that's definitely something I can do."
no subject
But he stopped, his eyes lifting over Norman's shoulder, and he cleared his throat. "Ah, and the great scribe returns. I shall come find you later, my friend. For now, I believe you have a majestic dragon to describe for posterity!"
no subject
So he looked at Sidon and nodded a little.
"I'll talk to you again later, then?"
He apparently had a dragon to talk about.
