Arriving back to the island, Sidon discovered that the holiday had stirred up inside of him a great deal of mixed and somewhat confused, though not at all bad, feelings. He was eager to be back, of course; he had promised Mipha that he would enjoy himself and he had, and now it was time to fulfill the other promises he had made, to keep diligently improving himself and fighting and striving forward so that, when the time came to rise against Calamity Ganon again, he'd be ready. The distraction that Greece had provided had been...spectacular. And potent. Even just thinking back on the week idly managed to produce its own distraction of considerable effectiveness, a small smile brightening his face unconsciously, his mind already wandering off into trying to think of the best way to thank Vette for being such wonderful company.

(Despite the fact, of course, that it was he who providing the tour and the breakfast and the swimming lessons. Middling, minor details, really).

But he couldn't think about that now. He had to get his mind back into business mode, back into the task at hand, the reason he was here, to learn, to strengthen himself, to be better. And he'd already decided that he would channel that into getting back into regular fighting form with his weapons almost as soon as he landed back in Fandom. Though it was very clear to him last night that a more important task needed to be tackled first...

His tank. A week away without use or upkeep was no good for his tank at all, so it would seem that his Sunday would be dedicated to the all-important task of cleaning, maintaining, and refilling the darned thing, which was certainly an all-day event that, at the very least, proved to be another effective distraction, not just from the visiting specter of his long-gone sister but also from the more recent, much warmer specter of longing for the bright Mediterranean Sea.

It should really be of no surprise to anyone that Sidon had been spending most of his time out in the ocean, especially since he hadn't any classes to help fill out his days a little more. He never liked being inside the dorms for too long, anyway, finding them dry and constricted, and why would he want to deal with that when the ocean was so vast and open and wonderful? He could easily waste an entire day exploring the waters around the island and the mainland shore, and even with all the time he spent out there, he still managed to always find something new and interesting to captivate and delight him.

Of course, when he was out that Friday, far out from the island and testing the limits of the current and just how deep he could go, he discovered something that he thought couldn't possibly be what he thought it was, half-buried in the ocean floor, with just enough of obnoxiously bright paint that could have even been seen from space that had miraculously avoided being as charred as the rest of it. He did a double-take, then swam back around to dig the Fish back up, his laugh drifting toward the surface in a flurry of bubbles.

And the first thing he did when he had the Fish back in his hands was hurry back to the dorms he avoided so much, into the room where he had no doubt his roommate would be, probably hunched over a book or glued to some spreadsheet on her computer.

"Paris!" Sidon burst (well, ducked, then burst) through the door. "You'll never believe what I've just found!"

It had been nearly a year, but he was so pleased to finally have something to bond with his roommate about. Even if that bond was basically just him lording the Fish that she'd yet to win over her.

[[ IT HAS RETURNED! Obviously, Sidon's here for his poor roommate, but the post is open after their thread! ]]

Ahh, yes, indeed, Sidon was practically floating on the sweet high that came along with victory, unscathed by paint despite showering his enemies with it, and, for his efforts and strategy, he had in his hands the coveted fish that had caused so much excitement over the past few weeks. Holding it, he hardly felt worthy of such a prize, but his heart danced with excitement, as he'd thought about doing this last week, and now, lo and behold, it was to come true, almost as if he himself were a very prophet.

Keeping a close eye out for the nefarious and notorious thieves that have attempted to claim the prize despite not having earned it, Sidon slipped away to his room with the prize held tight under his arm, where he went to his tank and promptly slipped the fish in.

"There, my amphibious brethren!" he declared as the backboard on the fish slowly started to drag it down, down, down toward the bottom of the large tank. "Finally, you may rest in the calm waters that I am certain you crave, soak in the sweet embrace of the water! I know you are but gears and wires and whatever else has been added to you in the course of these challenging events, but for now, for this week, rest and be free to enjoy the simple spirit of the waves, which surely lurks deep within you, though you are but mechanical and not actually a real fish."

And with that beatitude, Sidon himself slipped into the tank, reaching down to press the button that ignited the fish's sweet siren song, distorted and warbled now by the water. He sighed, closing his eyes contentedly, and listened.

Almost like whales calling to each other in the vast moonlit night...

[[I blame the fact that Wednesday is also cheap ass wine pour day at my bar. Door and post are open!]]

Well, then, that was a bit unexpected! Sidon had received a message last week informing him that sweet little Dunma had officially hit her growth spurt and completed her training well before expected, and they were going to make her an official guard as soon as the prince could return to be there for the event. Naturally, he could have waited until next week when he was intending to come home before the summer semester anyway, but far be it from him to make Dunma wait! He knew how hard she'd worked to become a guard like her father, and, since his classes were finished, he saw no reason why not to take the extra trip.

One thing was also certain: his desire to invite his friends to come with him to see his home had grown significantly in just his brief stay, and he'd only had a brief amount of time before returning to find them all and invite them. Now he had to wonder if he should make them all formal and in person or go a more Earth-like route with pretty written ones.

In the meantime, since he hardly had much to unpack, he went to check his tank to make sure the water salinity and temperature were kept while he was away, as well as pull up some of the radio broadcast to be filled in on what he may have missed while away.

[[and thus a convenient excuse for my boy getting ignored while my girls took over. Open door, open post!]]
